Scandinavian Shave Ice - Kailua-Kona

My husband and I shared a large shave ice with natural flavors of mango, pineapple, and passionfruit topped with coconut cream. It was the largest shave ice I've ever seen, and the prices are very reasonable for the portion size. The staff was friendly and helpful, taking their time to make sure our shave ice was perfect.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a must-try shaved ice spot in Kona before leaving in August. Finding parking was a challenge for us, as we were unfamiliar with the area, but we eventually made it. I recommend using Google Maps to find public parking on Likana Lane (off Kuakini HWY) within walking distance. My husband ordered the giant shaved ice with ice cream inside and enjoyed it, but I preferred the local ice cream they offer. The Kona Mudpie ice cream was incredibly smooth and delicious, bringing pure joy to my taste buds.

Shave ice was not good. Ice was quite coarsely grated. The flavor syrups tasted artificial and bottom part of the cup did not have any flavoring.

Wow. I can't believe how delicious this place is, especially on a hot day. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations. If only we had discovered this gem earlier in our trip, we would have visited every day! Parking in the area can be a challenge, so I suggest walking if you're staying nearby.

The medium sized cone was more than enough for 5 of us to share. We had Pina colada and lilokoi flavored with a pineapple soft serve and snow cap add on. Very refreshing and doesn't taste artificial at all! The store itself is small with limited sitting area. Kind of stuffy too. But the shaved ice itself was great!
