Keoni's Point Of View - Kailua-Kona

Tourists, don't be afraid of this locals place. It does look a little sketch from the outside. People inside were great. Happy hour is a good deal. I ordered the fish and chips but the real star was the spicy poke nachos made with fried wontons that my wife ordered. A local beer and and dragon fruit cider? Yes please! We had a nice hour watching the boats come and go on their patio.Parking: You are in a boat yard so watch for things.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would have. The food was gross, over fried and all frozen. I relied on the reviews and unfortunately, I think it were all fake! No way 120 reviews and everyone gave 4's and 5's, completely bogus. The food was over priced and skimpy. Avoid this place, go to the other million places to go in Kona.

After a snorkel on a speed boat tour, we stopped by this restaurant. It was January 1st, and other restaurants nearby were all closed. This is such a cute restaurant, a bit hidden, and has a great view of the harbor outside. It took quite a while until we received our food but since we were tired from the tour and the view from our seats outside was beautiful, we didn't mind waiting. Calamari was smaller amount than I expected but they were tasty. My fish tacos were good also.

Highlights: The server was friendly and lettuce was fresh. Around 2pm, I ordered two fish tacos at the happy hour price $5/taco). I was hungry and seeing that there were only a few other patrons, I hoped I would be eating soon. 30+ minutes later, I received my tacos and was disappointed to find that the fish in them were the size of a small finger. I think by weight, there was more sauce than fish.

My family and I showed up right after a lunch rush and most of the staff had left. I can't remember her name, but the lady who was covering the tables was handling the next rush so well! She communicated to everyone that she was the only one there and was very friendly. The food was amazing. I will definitely be back!! Try everything! It was all really good!
