El Acapulco - Jonesboro

I like the Steak Mexicano, the mixed fajitas, the shrimp chimichanga, the carne asada, carnitas, even the fajita taco salad is good here. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Back when there were 2 El Acapulco's in Jonesboro, i only ate at this one. In fact it's the only true Mexican restaurant, IMO. (TaMolly's doesn't count, guys! TaMolly's is more a mix of Tex-Mex/American/high-end Taco Bell. At El Acapulco I can order things here that aren't on the menu because a lot of the kitchen staff is Mexican. A lot of the wait staff used to be Mexican, too, which also made it easy to order certain plates the traditional Mexican way. Although the last time I dined-in there, which was before the pandemic, all the waitstaff was American and there were a lot of errors in orders bc they don't know and aren't familiar with Mexican cuisine. Hopefully, they got some Mexican or at least Mexican-Americans working the kitchen and waiting tables again. I have only ordered to-go from here since the pandemic. My order is always right, the tortillas are the only common mistake. If i order corn, I'll get flour, if i order 2 corn tortillas, I'll get one order of corn and the other will be flour. My husband likes the flour tortillas, so i always just give him the extra order and finish my meal without the tortillas.

I hadn't been here since I was a teenager. My parents used to take us all the time, now I get to bring my children. And I absolutely love coming here. Maybe I won't wait so long next time. It was the same great place I used to come to all the time.

Wow. Salsa and chips were excellent and we ordered cheese and guacamole dip to go with (both great). I ordered the fajitas Jalisco and my buddy ordered the carne asada tacos, both seasoned and cooked great. Our server Jared was attentive, made suggestions, and was overall just a nice guy to interact with. We are in town working and travel often, El Acapulco is top notch. Highly recommend.

Went there last night, wonderful meal. I’ve been there twice and although I don’t genuinely enjoy Mexican food, their rice is incredible and the shrimp is amazing (I’ve gotten both the spicy and the garlic and butter sauce, both are great) Plus I had the most amazing server, Katilyn, she was absolutely incredible. Always kind and got exactly what I wanted whenever I needed it, and she was so fun she introduced me to her coworkers! Axle is really nice and there was a girl (who’s name I can’t remember at the moment) who was incredibly funny and would randomly check on me and ask me things to the tune of “How’s everything going?” And things like that. Amazing service and if you go there ask if Katilyn is on staff! By the way, yes it is spelled Katilyn not Kaitlyn.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I mean outstanding. Ordered the Burrito Grande- and it is grande! Asked for it to have ground beef rather than chicken or steak, they did it and everything in it was fresh and well seasoned. Excellent service too, and food came out extra fast. I don't usually do reviews on chain restaurants, but this one is worth it.
