We were 4 adults and 2 kids who visited the place. Especially checked on phone with owner before visit if beer is served and they said yes. However once we ordered beer, we were told not to order more by the owner. Chicken momos were fine but vegetable momos were sad. Food portion size is very less. The vegetable manchurian had lot of salt. Overall found food expensive and not tasty
This is a small restaurant located on deer park road , in Bir with a very homely ambience. after taking a left turn for Bir landing site from BIR BILLING HIGHWAY & after crossing the main market , turn right on to deer park road . Refer to Google mapsThere is a small parking area near the restaurant . they also offer rooms for stay. the restaurant is named after their cute little son NORGAY. the couple are very friendly & ready to help you select the dishes according to your taste & liking. you have to jot down the items on a writing pad to avoid any error.the service is slow as everything is made fresh & is worth the wait . the tibetan dishes are a must try . we tried the chicken gyathuk , aloo phing & tibetan fired snacks Shabaley , lime soda , coffee banana shake & capuccino . The glass noodles in aloo phing are very tasty & very delicate .everything tasted fresh & flavourful ( you do not need any condiments to enhance the taste ) & the broth was without any cornflour & therefore very light on your stomach. The best meal for the hot summers. only problem is that the beverages both hot & cold lack sugar & North Indian like me wants my quota of sugar unlike most of the Israeli & other foreigners staying in various homestays nearby. Also the coffee banana shake was served @ room temperature .they have a clean & hygienic washroom facility. they have a floor seating arrangement as well to relax your tired feet . they also offer continental , chinese & israeli dishes. I did not try those bcoz the foodie in me had come here to taste authentic Tibetan cuisine & was very delighted with the choice I made. the food is light both on stomach as well as the pocket. The food bill was only Rs 661 , for the entire mealif you are visiting Palampur & wondering what to do , I would suggest you to drive to Bir ( takes 45 min. approx.) & visit the beautiful monasteries in Bir & taste authentic Tibetan cuisine ( both veg & non veg ) . they also organize paragliding tour . the adrenaline junkies may procced to Billing for paragliding & sail in cool breeze & feel like a bird.
Nice service, wonderful ambience, good food. Deserves a visit. The owner also offers paragliding, camping and trekking. Loc is bit inside a road.
