Lubi's Hot Subs - Jacksonville

Lubi's is a classic diner that specializes in sandwiches and breakfast, featuring some unique steamed sub combinations. I've been a loyal customer since childhood, and it remains one of my top choices for a hearty, quick lunch. All of their subs are delicious, but during my latest visit, I enjoyed the fiesta sub, which was as tasty (and messy) as I remembered. The potato salad is also excellent. The staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. They offer a drive-thru, an indoor dining area, and shaded outdoor seating.

The food has always been great. Prices are increasing, but that's pretty common at most places. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual.

It’s not just a sub; it’s a Lubi. It’s a unique experience. If you came expecting something else, that’s on you. I really enjoy the flavor – it’s soft and delicious, and everything is made to order. The sweet peppers on top are fantastic. Also, they're open on Sundays, despite what Zomato states.

I've been a fan of Lubi's since the late 1970s, and I have to say, I've never tasted anything quite like their sloppy Joe topped with red sauce and sour cream. Pairing it with a giant limeade is the perfect finishing touch. When I was a kid, the only Lubi's in town was on University Blvd., and going there felt like such a special treat, especially when we were far from home on the south side of town. I always enjoy visiting on Sunday mornings for a breakfast of eggs over easy, grits, smoked link sausage, and home fries—truly a fantastic country breakfast. Congratulations to Nick for successfully keeping the Beach Blvd. location thriving, and hats off to you for the impressive interior renovation. Great job!

We used to visit Lubi's on University and Sunbeam for many years. When they closed, I assumed all locations were shut down. However, two weeks ago, I discovered that the one on Beach Blvd was still open. I went there today and ordered the mozzarella Lubi's, adding hot peppers, of course. It was fantastic! The quality has remained unchanged for over 20 years. They also offer cherry limeade. Now that I know it's still operating, I'll definitely keep coming back!
