Blue Lion - Jackson

For the first time here. In any case, the best French onion has soup we've ever had! The steaks are really good. The service was mediocre. Our waiter seemed to avoid the table usually. The bartender made fantastic drinks! There was a little live music and that was all more fun. We'll definitely come back when we're close!

While on our trip, we ate a lot of lamb. One of the best lamb racks is the one at The Blue Lion (it was suggested by a local here in Jackson). Portion to price is very palatable. The crust on the perfectly cooked lamb rack adds a sweet note to it. It makes it sing. For a starter, we ordered duck cakes. Delish. The French onion soup was tasty and even though I'm not a salad person, even the salad was yummy. The service was great. Our server was a very down-to-earth fella. We enjoyed chatting with him.

Visiting Jackson in the off season. Many restaurants were closed and we were looking for a good steak. We weren’t sure what to think because the building is definitely understated from the outside. Our food was absolutely amazing! My steak was so tender and cooked perfectly. Staff were on point, friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this hidden gem. Wonderful experience.

First things first the food was excellent and our server, T Bird provided 5 star service! Special occasion for us; hubby had the beef tenderloin said it was 'the best he 's ever had '... even better than Chandlers Steakhouse. I had the grilled salmon with butter caper sauce; also best ever and grilled perfectly! Some details about the inside if this is your first time since the pictures are lacking. This restaurant was a former house so the seating inside can be 'tight ' depending on your table. We had asked for a quiet table and a perfect table was reserved but once we went upstairs to be seated, noticed they had just sat a young couple with a 2 or 3 year child a few tables over. We asked to be moved; second table had a bunch of 'very talkative loud ' group of older ladies with one chair almost touching my back...another move! Finally settled in to a relatively quiet corner spot. This place is not suitable for a quiet, romantic dinner but we would definitely go back for their outstanding food and service!

The patio is facing a park which is nice. The service was good. We had grilled Elk, lamb and the scallops, food are all reasonable good. Only one thing: both of the wine glasses we got have large areas of stains on them, hope this can be improved in the future.
