El Galeon - Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo

This restaurant is at the Marina, nice atmosfere, good food and good prices. We órdenes a lobster, it was very tasty for a very good price

After a very long very Hot walk Eric was a sight for sore eyes His Big smile and welcoming personality pulled us in to the shade of this beautiful Nautical restaurant right on the water in the Marina We only drank much needed Margaritas but had a really great time learning about the area from Eric . We saw the food and it looked delicious too bad we couldn't have made it back one evening for a meal Maybe next time we are back See you then.

After eating in Zihua a few nights, wanted to dine in Ixtapa. This was a delightful choice. Had a table overlooking the water, nice open air feel (with overhead fans if you choose), food was very good as was the bottle of red wine we ordered. The service was delightful as well! We went on a Monday night...so it was quiet, but don't let that stop u from going in! Also u might want to get there in daylight to enjoy the beautiful marina!

This is one of your best meals in Ixtapa for a great price. We had the beef tenderloin and shared Caesar salad. Caesar salad was excellent and made tableside a Mexican tradition. Service was attentive and top notch. Eric was our server and he was fantastic. We forgot our bag when we left and he chased us down the road to return it to us! The prices were great and the atmosphere is excellent. El Galion is located in the marina, on the water with great views of some gorgeous yachts. If you want a good steak dinner or excellent seafood this is the place to go. A very romantic setting. We have been coming here for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Don't miss this place on your next trip to Ixtapa.

There is no question that El Galeon is a nice place. We ate there with friends and had a good meal. The problem I have with Galeon is it not a good value. Service is good the atmosphere is good the food is good but the price is double what it should be. The wine prices were outrageous. A seven dollar bottle of wine cost $40. The food is good not great. I ate at several restaurants where the food was far better, the service also good and the atmosphere also good but the prices were half of El Galeon. So, I won't go back. I spend three months in Zih/Ixtapa so I eat at many restaurants so I know what is available.
