They eventually sat us next to the door (it was 28 degrees) even though there were other tables. Service was haphazard silverware and our kids drinks came in the middle of the food. Portions were large, food was okay.
We arrived for our reservation and they were super busy and our table was given to another large party. So they placed us in Cool Mess, their ice cream shop behind the restaurant. It was cheerful and bright. They were very accommodating in adjusted the lighting and brought in some lanterns. Tyler, our server invited us to play our own music. We had the best service, great food, delicious dessert, and a private dining experience. Thanks Tyler and Austin’s.
To start, they were running about 30 minutes behind on reservations. There were 4 of us and we ordered appetizers and drinks right away. Those came and we didn’t see our server again for a while. We finished those before we were able to order entrees and more drinks. It took about an hour to get our dinner and next round of drinks. Our server was mostly MIA and the other server was walking around aimlessly, completely zoned out. The bartender seemed more interested in talking to people at the bar than making drinks. The last time we ate here (precovid) we had a similarly bad experience. We won’t be back.
We made reservations and received a confirmation but when we arrived at Austin’s it was closed for renovations. We are from out of town and were found with no reservations for a busy holiday week. We are very disappointed that they showed open on OpenTable.
We are from Kentucky where Asparagus is pronounced Uh-sphe-ruh-gus. Not isprickis. Spent two minutes trying to figure out what the waitress was saying.
