Elysian Cafe - Hoboken

Went back a second time for brunch!! The grilled chicken sandwich is absolutely amazing so definitely filling!! They can definitely incorporate a brunch offer for mimosa pitchers on the weekends, it would be a huge hit.

Food and service was fine but the potatoes lyonnaise were of diner-like quality. Mushy and bland. Not sure the chef knows how to make them.

Visited from NC for Sunday Brunch while visiting family. We sat outside with our pup and the staff was super friendly, the eggs Benedict was sooo good, with the fries and iced coffee. Will definitely come back when visiting Hoboken again :

I had the chicken toastie and that was delicious with a Spanish latte to drink. The drink was not sweet enough so the staff took the drink and added more Condensed milk. Staff were willing to go over and beyond and asked if we had any issues. The cafe itself looks very nice and decor is very aesthetically pleasing. A way to improve would be to maybe have napkins on the table and when serving glasses of water, not to hold it at the rim of the glass (personal preference).

A lovely experience from start to finish. The physical space itself is worth the visit. Once you’re seated, look up at the magnificent ceiling. Is it painted tin ? The uppermost window panes have a starburst design that reflects onto the window coverings. There is excellent use of the space. Tables don’t feel crowded and the seating is comfortable. Chilled potato and leek soup, a Chef’s Special, was light, delicate and simply garnished with a bit of chopped chives. Steak Frites was a substantial serving. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Excellent, professional and friendly service. Kid friendly. Kids menu is varied and child was served promptly. Very much look forward to returning.
