Hildesheimer know this restaurant through the nice couple that runs it. here the chef still cooks himself and the chefin helps in the service and takes care of the guests. now for eating: rumpsteak is here the non-Plus-Ultra...with bratkartoffeln (beautifully crispy) and if afterwards is still in the magen: pancake in various variants. in autumn there are typical green cabbages, in winter gans. simply recommended!
We went through and went to eat there because of the reviews. the pancake with cassler and cheese looked super good and was very delicious. as a daily meal there was a sparing with carving, the teller then ratzeputz empty. the spatula still a little bit bit bit, the carving fryed, the sauce hollandaise made itself. good solid craft
We have often been too hospitable and love the rich selection of the delicate carvings. in november until December, however, are the "Gänse-Brüste" the best one can get in hildesheim. all freshly cooked! the team is always extremely attentive.
We've visited Zum Maigrafen with our two years old child. The staff has been great, very kind with us and our child. The place looks a bit old fashioned but authentic and cozy. Although they do not have a kids menu, they offered him some small sized dishes. They also gave him some crayons and white paper. We tried the Pfannkuchen, pancakes, and they were great. Careful, portions are big. Also the cordon bleu and the schnitzel were good, authentic German meals! Recommended for those who want to taste something genuine and typical, nothing classy or posh.
