El Greco - Heroldsberg

After two visits lately I felt obliged to bring this aspiring place to the attention of metropolitan and foreign visitors - Credit cards accepted - NO English menu, but: "English spoken" - "On parle Francais" and others more - no reason to leave this place - be adventurous, discuss dishes and then trust the padrone,s suggestion.Stifado is not available daily; the selection of bottled Greek wines is a welcome surprise. Greek coffee and very old Metaxa brandy can be taken in most comfortable arm chairs in the lower pit in front of a fire place - hot or cold - no cigars-too bad.Ideal for family or business groups - music preferences may be voiced. The padrone makes all efforts for his guests to feel comfortable. The kitchen brigade acts in unison - you can see and feel it. A clear recommendation ! .

This restaurant is very quaint and also has an open fire on the lower seating level.In a cellar space which is well decorated and presented.There is not and English menu but there are pictures and if you are no stranger to Greek food you will manage very well.Expect to be brought a glass of ouzo to enjoy. There is music playing and the atmosphere is charming.The food here is also very good and well worth having some seafood.

There are stairs down to this cellar restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully presented and clean. It has a warm fire and the service is warm and friendly.No English menu, but the staff were more than happy to help translate and to recommend.If you enjoy Greek food and happen to be in Heroldsberg it is worth the visit.

Food was great... Staff was very helpful and friendly... they help us to choose a have a nice dinner in a nice atmosphere.!
