Ataraxia Wines - Hermanus

We only had such a wonderful experience here. We drove up this morning at 11:30 a.m. (actually looking for a coffee before the wine and I stopped the car twice on the way to the Wine Lounge. The views are from this world. The small chapel style wine lounge sits proudly on a hill surrounded by vineyards and rolling mountains. The building is stunning, with a bell that randomly sounds: . When we arrived Lionel, the Wine Lounge Manager came to us to open only for us! We went in and were blown away from the interior of the lounge. It is open to the views, decorated with amazing art and the furniture is an eclectic mix and match that creates a secret glamour. When we sat, we were let by the brilliant Lionel directly into a delicious tasting of their 4 wines, and Lionel continued to entertain us with his good humor and a liner. What an extraordinary space and doggo friendly!! Can't wait to bring more friends.

This charming old church has been transformed into a unique wine tasting venue, featuring stunning artwork and breathtaking views. The character of the place is truly remarkable.

A tasting room with an incredible view. We visited the tasting room of Ataraxia and were greeted by interesting art pieces, friendly staff and a magnificent view of the valley of the hemel-en-aarde. We had a guided tasting of the regular wines produced by the property and a special edition Pinot Noir free of charge. A high recommendation for the black Chardonnay as a carrier bottle.

Lionel was fantastic. As was their limited edition chardonnay.
