Let 's start with the good stuff first , the Service is great , the beer is very good , loved the little fireplace outside, love seeing peoples dogs , nice ambiance. Now the bad , the band was so loud I couldn 't even carry on a conversation, I could have lived with it if it was good music maybe it was , but just too loud in that small area to tell but it wasn 't, maybe down size to a one talented guy and a guitar kinda thing , or just play the radio , this band in my opinion isn 't bringing anything to the table , besides that , it 's a brewery and it closes at 9:30 on a Saturday night , I don 't know what the thought process is here , maybe you 're rich and you 're doing this for fun , I 'd rethink my hours if I 'm selling beer for a living . Anyway it was a nice place to have a fresh beer except for the loud music and the early closing time .
Oversoul Brewing is one of those great finds you just feel lucky to trip over. Staying in Birmingham, AL, I played golf and Yelp'd microbreweries. Oversoul came up. I stopped in. The space (in downtown Helena next to Bear Creek), the beer (I tried their house IPA and their Buck Creek Brown outstanding), and live music (Colton Friday on this evening) made for a perfect Alabama night. I bought a t shirt, so I remember the experience every time I wear it
This is a really nice micro microbrewery next to the park in downtown Helena. It has a nice view of Buck Creek since a tornado took out all the huge trees. Primarily outdoor seating with a small space for live music, I am glad we finally were able to visit. Hours are very limited, so check the website before coming. Parking is at the bottom of the hill or across the street, so it is not wheelchair accessible, though a determined individual could get to the front door with help. Very pet friendly. We ordered several different beers, including a pale ale and pilsner. They were surprisingly good, and I'd expect this place to expand if they keep their quality up. We'll be back, with the dog.
The atmosphere at Oversoul is great and the staff is very friendly! Overall the beer is subpar, but it is worth a try for a nice weekend day. Would recommend the Blonde or the Mexican Lager.
