For about $10 you get a good meal that costs about half what a dish in a nearby restaurant would set you back. I ordered the tamarind fried chicken, which was great - not greasy - covered in cashew nuts and a delicious tamarind sauce. Furthermore the crumb mix was really tasty, flaky and much better than some of the fried chicken I've had recently at Korean fried chicken joints. It was served with boiled rice and a bowl of soup. For a student that's a full meal, although anyone who likes soup might take exception to this slightly flavoured bowl of hot water being described thus. We also had some salt & pepper calamari - which again was good and not greasy. Plenty of other great dishes on the menu to explore. Tiger Cave calls itself Thai fusion, but it serves all sorts of food including plates of chips and wedges.
Hidden in a food court, which gives new meaning to the term no ruffles, Tiger Cave offers a Thai fusion menu. My fried barramundi with cashew nuts was a huge portion with delicious spicy sauce and free soup. At $ 11 this was a winner.
Seriously one of the best green curries I have ever eaten in my entire life! at $8.50 don't be surprised if i'm at this beat-up, busy, hole in the ground
