Kin Senn - Haymarket

Really enjoyed the Thai "street food" on offer here. Generous portions, value for money and wide variety of choices. Would come back anytime for my Thai cravings.

The main reason this gets a low rating from me is service related. We were unlucky enough to be that one table where things go wrong on Saturday night. Took the staff about 30 minutes to bring us a glass of wine and an iced tea (I am thinking our order was not put through properly). My partner got his food fairly quickly but had to enquire 3 times for mine to arrive much later and be cold. The taste was fine and the iced tea delicious hence why it is not rated lower.

The food here is very pricey but is not followed by good quality. Ordered a "salad" which only had a few pieces of lettuce and extremely spice sauce which I could not tolerate. The fried icecream was not cooked with the correct type of oil and the additional berries were frozen. Would not go here again. Despite this, staff were friendly and nice.

It's hard to select a restaurant when they all appear the same but this particular thai restaurant stood out in thai town because it had a large sign for $5 meals all day. I went in with my family and tried out their $5 menu. They also had lunch deals on at a bargain $9.90 including a drink. I enjoyed my beef noodle soup, it was very delicious and fragrant. My family were also very happy with their meals chosen. I also ordered a longan drink but it had way too much crushed ice I felt it was more crushed ice rather than drink. The restaurant staff were welcoming and seating deco and arrangements were pleasant.

There's a wide selection of Thai sweets and desserts. I love the bright green layer sweet cake which is intoxicatingly fragrant with pandan and coconut.
