The menu have lots of fruit juices (fairly close to what outsiders would call a 'smoothie ' , the bread is freshly made, the oil is real olive oil which came as a surprise. This is not a restaurant, so portions are not big, but with so cheap prices, if you 're really hungry just double your order or pick up 2 different things and you 'll be fine. The outside looks like everything in Cuba, run down and falling apart but the interior is cosy and with a view to the downstairs handcraft shop. Updated from previous review on 2016-10-06
Very nice food in the old town with modest prices and fillings. Many plates are vegetarian, some are vegan or can be made vegan. Chilled atmosphere and nice staff also sells some handmade objects. Totally recommended!
There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available at this restaurant. The drinks are also excellent!
Oasis Nelva is a lovely creperie adorned with lush green plants, elegant pots, and unique decor items available for purchase. Their special vegan crepe recipe is customizable with fillings of meat, fish, or a variety of vegetables like pumpkin, red cabbage, eggplant, pepper, and greens. Our meal at Oasis Nelva was one of the highlights of our time in Havana. The staff was incredibly friendly and engaging in conversation. The atmosphere was laid-back and inviting. We are already looking forward to returning during our next visit to Cuba.
I discovered an Oasis café (offering both meat and vegetable options) on the same street as El Shamuskia'o. While I'm not certain if it's the same café, I can confirm they serve a delicious vegetarian crepe. The crepe had a great taste and a fresh appearance, priced at 3 CUC. It was the perfect choice after indulging in too many tomato and cucumber salads.
