Shug's Smokehouse - Hartsville

I absolutely love this restaurant! My favorite dish is the chicken wings in Shug sauce. The food is always cooked to perfection, and the customer service is excellent! Michael, our waiter, goes above and beyond to ensure that you're happy. The caramel cupcakes are incredibly delicious as well, and the salmon nuggets are equally tasty.

Where do I even begin? Let's start with the appetizers! The fried green tomatoes, served with homemade pimento cheese and topped with their special pepper jelly, create a perfect balance of sweet and savory that you must try on your next visit—it's a culinary delight! The ribeye and asparagus are simply outstanding! The steak was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were absolutely remarkable! And don’t overlook the fresh honey butter croissants—who needs dessert when those are on the table? But we couldn’t resist trying the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and a touch of chocolate mousse, and it was divine! The service here is exceptional. Abby and Michael truly understand the essence of customer service; they make you feel like a long-lost friend rather than just a customer. Thank you for such an incredible experience. Shugs has officially become my new favorite dining spot in Texas!

Excellent customer service, delicious, well presented, and well portioned food. No wonder the waiting time to get in is always long but so worth it. Best fried green tomatoes appetizer in the whole South.
