We asked him for a cinnamon raisin bagel and he rudely said “no we’re out. I then asked what he had left and he just pointed at a piece of paper with bagel flavors listed and raisin was still on the list and two raisin bagels were in the bin. He asked if we needed more time, didn’t wait for a response and politely helped the white customer who just came in. I was so disgusted we just left out. If you can avoid this racist bagel shop do so by all means!!Update…. Clearly the owner is just as big of a racist as his employees are. I’m not complaining about the fact that you were out of a certain bagel. That would be asinine. I’m upset at the inequality of service presented to me and my friend (both African American) versus a white customer who was in your establishment. If you don’t take these complaints seriously, I’m glad I will never step foot in your establishment again as it seem like you have poor business practices! Also if you want receipts that I’ve been to your racist shop before I have them. Dont believe about today, check you camera at around 20 mins prior to the posting you will see that’s when we were there and walked out with nothing. Only black people in your establishment at the time so shouldn’t be hard to point out.
RACIST PEOPLE! I would never eat here again! Waited 35 minutes for my food and I asked can they check how long it would take “ the boy with glasses, yellow shirt and Yankees 47 baseball cap said “no you can just cancel it”. Very unprofessional and rude customer Service! I then saw another employee come out and ask him can I speak to the manager he insisted he was the manager. I told him that his employee is very rude and he said okay and looked away from me. I am an African American female they did not acknowledge me (look at me) or apologize for the rude customer Service. I will never go back there just terrible customer service!
Came here randomly just off the PATH train. i’m loyal to my hometown spot but this is easily one of the best pork roll sandwiches i’ve ever had
From Google Review: Stop treating your customers poorly, as evidenced in your unprofessional responses to legitimate reviews that are sharing with you how to improve your business. I won't be coming back. Also, FYI your service is in fact slow and poor.
Edit: added response to owner Your advertised hours at the shop or online (google maps) DO NOT REFLECT WHEN SHOP IS ACTUALLY OPEN. I live in the area and have been a customer literally since the opening. I truly enjoyed the food and, especially the coffee. However, there is clearly management issue, particularly with sticking to the schedule.ORIGINAL REVIEW:The place is open when they choose to. Have been a customer for few years. Shop has really hard times sticking to advertised schedule, closing it on random days on regular basis. Like today closed on Monday.Food is really good, sometimes they can mess up your order, particularly when you customize it (ex.: ask for no cheese)
