Henry Allen's Sea Food - Harpswell

This is a fantastic place with delicious food. They occasionally close early during slow periods, so it's a good idea to give them a call beforehand.

I picked up three dozen crabs and four lobsters today. They have an excellent selection, reasonable prices, and the staff is great to work with.

When we arrived at the touch tank, we noticed a dead fish floating in the water. Furthermore, from previous visits last month, it was clear that the marine life in the tank was unchanged, suggesting they do not rotate the animals regularly. Additionally, the tank lacked proper substrate, which is not suitable for the animals; there were no hiding spots, sand, or shade provided, creating an unhealthy environment for the wildlife. The staff even admitted that they do not allow the crabs to be released and that they don’t switch them out with different crabs. While the concept of the touch tank is well-intentioned, the lack of proper care can have negative consequences and may inadvertently teach children that it's acceptable to mistreat animals.

I won't go anywhere else for my lobsters! The staff here are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They offer the best prices on fresh lobsters and crabs. We even spotted a golden eagle sitting on a tree! It's a fantastic place! Thank you so much!

The staff is friendly, the lobster is of excellent quality, and the prices are reasonable. Plus, the waterfront view is truly worth the visit!
