They have private rooms upstairs and a sushi bar on the ground floor. Service was great. Prices are a little expensive, but it's high quality. Would definitely recommend.
Sashimi quality was better than others in the same area. and the interior was clean and neat. Personally, it was the top 3 sashimi bar among the Japanese restaurant where I've tried in Hanoi considering the price and quality.
We came here based on the strength of Google's reviews, and we left rather disappointed. Fukurai is by no means bad, but neither is it remotely close to Japanese standards. The seating arrangements are the stand-out novelty. Guests each have their own cubicle behind a sliding door, meaning you can have privacy in Hanoi. Wowzers. Staff are polite to a fault. They'll greet you in Japanese and their actions are formalised in a Japanese manner. The food is fresh, albeit rather bland and expensive for the portion-size. The facilities are clean and the venue quiet. As we sat appreciating the calligraphy on the wall, we were frequently reminded we were in Vietnam. It was nice to have our own AC in our cubicle, but the remote was taken away after 10 minutes because apparently there's only one for the whole floor. The item my Mum ordered wasn't available. Food was served in dribs and drabs, so one of us had finished before the other had begun. It took a long time between ordering drinks and having them served. The breaded chicken was mostly bread. I appreciated the training the staff had been given to act Japanese, but the overall effect was rather awkward. It's not a place I'd return back to. I think kids would probably enjoy it because of all of the gymnastics of getting around the cubicle, but then again the restaurant is a bit too expensive and formal for kids. Certainly a novelty but the appeal rapidly dissipates.
Waiting so long the food to the table even the restaurant is not so crowded. Ops first time here would never be back again
Arrived at 6:30 PM and it took them 30 minutes to bring one appetizer. One and half hours later and they had only brought a few more dishes. We had to leave because the children were so hungry. Strongly recommend you avoid this place.
