We had the solid menu of the cook with wine that is pricier than many of the surrounding restaurants, but still less expensive than anywhere in the states (five courses with paired wine for $50/person). It was terrible. We loved the unique aesthetics, the daring Vietnamese food and attention to service and detail. We came later at 8:00, so we had no waiting time, but we could say that they just came from a heavy dinner service. Would recommend booking a dinner when you go for dinner hours earlier.
Make yourself dinner at another restaurant that apparently closed. At a nearby hotel, the receptionist suggested this place. I arrived about 15 minutes after closing. I explained the situation to James, the General Manager, who welcomed me at my entrance and invited me to stay and eat. After a quick look at the menu I chose a set of Vietnamese menu with appetizer, soup, Entree and Dessert. The spring roller cup included a fried spring roll and a traditional spring roll with shrimp pork. Both were delicious. The BBQ pig was in a slightly sweet broth of fish sauce with a mild lemongrass taste, and was amazing. The black sticky rice in yogurt with ice was the right amount of sweet to complete the meal. While I was comprehensible first, it was pretty good. That was the best meal I had in Hanoi. The hospitality shown by James and his staff was exemplary. They made me feel very welcome even when I arrived late and was accrual this guy. If you are in Hanoi, do yourself a favor and visit Duong Restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
This is an expensive restaurant in the heart of the old Hanoi neighborhood. The staff’s food and service was exceptional! I tried her cook recommended and restaurant popular grilled catfish with rice noodles. It was served in a sizzling dish and the entire rice paper, sauce and roll experience made my first Vietnamese food experience unforgettable. Essen 10/10 Service 11/10 Ambience 8/10 Location 10/10 I would recommend this place if you don't mind splurging for a nice meal. The staff was very polite, she also offered a welcome dish that I thought was a nice touch!
Had a great time at Duong’s restaurant last night. It is reopened so it only has a set menu available. They were very accommodating to leave my friend, the stomach problems had to order a plate. The service was great and the food was also. Standouts were spring rolls, beef pho, grilled fish and Vietnamese meat balls (bun cha). Look at this place safely.
Excellent food and ambience. We found this restaurant via Google for nearby to Silk Path hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. Our party had either BBQ pork skewers or tiger prawn mains. Our waiter Johnie Walker, even took the prawns from their shells for the ladies! The desserts were all absolutely fabulous too. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service
