Northern Star Hotel - HAMILTON SOUTH

We went for lunch to the Northern Star and were surprised to see it so empty. It is a nice pub with nice furnishings. My husband wasn't particularly hungry so we decided to share one of their lunch time specials. It was a pulled pork pizza with would you believe apple sauce, red onion, capsicum and mozzarella cheese. It was a long time coming but when it did it was worth the wait. The pastry was thin and crisp and the toppings really complimented each other. At $10 it was great value.Unfortunately their beers were not good value with their James Squire range being $7.40 a schooner.

Went to lunch here today. Wonderful pub, quiet and relaxing. The food was cooked to perfection you can tell the chef/s took pride in their position. Will be returning with friends and family

My partner and I come here for lunch every time we come to Newcastle. They have an amazing lunch deal of a sirloin steak chips salad and gravy with a drink for $15.50 which we get every time. We also have had the chocolate and almond pudding, the bannana pudding and the Belgium waffles with Caremal sauce and Creme brûlée ice cream all under $10.We won't go anywhere else and kinda get excited when we have to drive past Newcastle from Wyong.

We had heard at Gosford this Irish pub had good steaks that came from the farm to the plate. This Hotel is not given the credit it deserves, the 3 Manning Valley steaks on the Tasting Board were cooked to perfection & perfectly accompanied with Duck Fat Baby Carrots Mushrooms. We also had the 3 Organic Pork Tasting Board, the 3 separate Pork samples were superb, (1) Chinese Sticky Pork Ribs, (2) Twice cooked Pork Belly & (3) Pepper crusted Pork Loin, accompanied with Asian Slaw, Apple Chutney & Potato Puree.These meals were a credit to the establishment & I pass on my personal congratulations. Well done Irish Pub.

Ate here yesterday. Had an early dinner. The portions are good, and the atmosphere is not to bad, I had steak with duck fat potatoes ( which were hard in the middle) others at the table had beef and Guinness pie and a salad that was huge. Not a lot of mid strength beers available and the outdoor smoking room is poorly designed as the smell of cigarettes really does permiate the entire pub.
