This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Hamburg for takeout. I always enjoy the food I get from China Wok. Last time I got food they were pickup only.
Best Chinese takeout in the area. their chicken is incredible, their rice is always perfect and never hard, and they ALWAYS get my order right. this has become my regular spot and i truly can’t talk this place up enough!
This is a decent Chinese takeout place in Hamburg, and also a lifesaver on Mondays when most restaurants aren't open (they're closed on Tuesdays . I'm not sure how long it's been around since I couldn't find it on Yelp and had to create the listing. I came across it last year during Covid when I went to the UPS store which is 2 doors down from it. For the last 4 years that we have lived in Hamburg, I've been dying to find a decent Chinese takeout joint in the area. We were happy when we found Ginger and Garlic, but I'm glad we now have a second option that's even closer, especially on Monday nights when Ginger and Garlic is closed! The fried dumplings are always good, though I do wish they're just a little crispier. But we still love them and always order 2 so that we each get our own. My husband really likes their pork lo mein it usually comes with carrots and Napa cabbage (the restaurant calls it bok choy but that's because it's literally called bok choy in Chinese . Hubby despises carrots and even though he likes Napa cabbage, he orders it without it because he usually eats it over the course of 2 3 days, and he says that the cabbage gets too soggy after the first day. He usually gets the sesame chicken to go with his lo mein and enjoys the combination immensely. I usually get the pork fried rice without peas and carrots. It seems to be a popular thing around the Southtowns Chinese restaurants, but I really don't like them in my fried rice so I get mine without them. I usually get some kind of chicken dish (chicken with broccoli, chicken with mushrooms, etc. but this time I decided to explore the menu a little and ordered the pork chop suey and the pork egg foo young. I've never had chop suey before and while I enjoyed it, I didn't love it and wouldn't order again. It was way too saucy for me and I'm weird about that I prefer my food on the drier side, unless it's soup, of course. The egg foo young was basically a Chinese omelette and came with a delicious gravy. I really liked it and would consider ordering again. Other items we've tried that we also liked include Singapore mei fun, general tso's chicken, and some beef entrees. My husband always gets the Chinese donuts too (basically just fried dough covered in sugar which is always delicious. I think next time I'm going to try a chow mein!
The food was excellent and offered great value for the portion sizes! We will definitely be returning customers! The lo mein was flavorful, the egg rolls were delicious, and the crab rangoon was very tasty!
