The Golden Fish - Greenwich

I went to this restaurant after seeing it in a guide as one of the top 5 places for fish and chips. It did not disappoint. It is a fast food type restaurant with tables at the back. Very well located, only 10 meters from Oxford Street. I ordered cod and a delicious beer. The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was crispy and not greasy. Great service and good prices. The portions are huge.

One rainy Friday evening in September, I chose to order Chinese takeout for delivery. The estimated delivery time was 45 minutes, but after waiting for over an hour, I contacted the restaurant to check on my order. To my surprise, I was informed that the delivery driver refused to come out in the rain to deliver my food! I was shocked by the lack of dedication. I highly suggest steering clear of this restaurant and instead, patronizing establishments that prioritize integrity and deserve your business.

The portion of fish was generous, but it was overly greasy. The fries could have been crunchier, perhaps by using higher quality potatoes instead of the cheapest option.
