The ginger snaps have nice chunks of candied ginger, the banana/chocolate split cookie was moist and almost creamy, the quiche is packed without–amazingly–losing its fluffiness, and the pepperoni rolls are balanced and flavorful, not overly doughy. I have yet to try the aourdough bread. I plan to bake it after dampening to make it crispy on the outside. Chatting with owner Daniel was great, as we both ran trips out of Northern California and both have some good stories of touring foreigners around the Southwest. It's a really nice building, adorned with bits from out West, like my favorite: speeding kills bears (from Yosemite). Added bonus: a tiny vintage area with some great gems, like a shirt that had a guinea hen added. Love it! Hope to visit again soon!Edit: The seeded sourdough is incredible I wetted it and baked for a while to make the crust crispy. The bread was fluffy and elastic, and served well under poached eggs and hollandaise.
Nice, clean, with great cinnamon buns! Good pepperoni rolls. The sun dried tomato spinach quiche was very good also.
Amazing local gem, full of delicious smells. Get there early! The warm and fluffy pepperoni rolls melt in your mouth. This stop on our WV adventure is one we’re not going to forget.
Everything I bought was delicious, and bought a bunch!
Good Roads Bakehouse was recommended to us by friends and we finally had the opportunity to be in the area when they were open. The case was full of goodness and we kept adding items to our order…cinnamon rolls, brownies, pop tarts and several varieties of cookies! Everything was excellent but our favorites were the cookies! We will definitely return to try some more treats and give the savory items a try as well. We highly recommend Good Roads Bakehouse! You will not be disappointed!
