Somethings Brewing Downtown - Grayslake

Nestled in the charming downtown Grayslake, this cozy coffee shop offers much more than just great coffee. You'll find delicious food, delightful treats, edible gifts, and unique cards all in one place. The outdoor seating area is a wonderful spot for the community to gather, especially on pleasant days. We highly recommend visiting on a peaceful Sunday morning. We also enjoy placing takeout orders to enjoy at home.

A downtown Grayslake gem. The atmosphere is EXACTLY what you'd want in a neighborhood coffee shop, with both indoor and outdoor seating options, right on the main street of downtown Grayslake. The coffee is always solid, they always have the usual staplesplus they rotate an interesting flavored variety if that's your thing. But the real treat is the baked goods absolutelyphenomenal variety of really yummy muffins, cakes, cookies, scones, etc. So good! I've also had breakfast here a few times andthe food is always great to go along with friendly service. Support small, local businesses and think of Somethings Brewingnext time you get that Starbucks craving you won't be disappointed!

The food is absolutely delicious! The menu is quite extensive, almost to the point of being overwhelming, but I love the variety of options available. The staff is always friendly and attentive. However, it is a bit on the expensive side.

This place is amazing! They have a huge variety of customizable drinks, delicious breakfast sandwiches, and delightful chocolate treats! I just wish they were closer to the North Shore!

When she finally approached, her demeanor was less than friendly. She rudely grabbed a bag, and I tried my best to remain calm and patient while placing my order. Our interaction was awkwardly silent, with me simply stating what I wanted. When I asked for a pound of chocolate-covered strawberries for $20, she gave me a strange look, even though there was a large sign right in front of us advertising them. Again, there were no words from her, just unwelcoming glances and the sound of plastic gloves. After all that, we reached the counter, and I ordered just under $50 worth of items. To my surprise, she asked if I needed a bag, even though she had given bags to all the customers before me. I signed the e-receipt, and before we even finished the transaction, she quickly moved on to take another order for the group behind me, leaving me hanging. I didn't receive a receipt, a bag, or even a simple "thank you" or "goodbye." It was one of the strangest and rudest interactions I’ve ever had, and I couldn’t shake it off. As I walked toward the door, I opened it for another customer coming in, and she didn’t even acknowledge my gesture with a "thank you." There were no smiles or warmth to be found. I thought it would be a day filled with kindness, and I wish more people could reflect that attitude.
