I did not explain milk, no eggs, no oyster sauce and no gelatine. we chose the sweet and acidic tofu (the vegan proved) and the tofu with sweet in the dried top (some have not vegan ingredients, maybe oyster sauce. not sure, but I could say it wasn't vegan could also be because they have the same pots as used for meat dishes.) I wouldn't say not to go there, but be more careful and make sure their message gets through. updated from previous review on 2016-10-24
This is my favorite place in the city for Asian cuisine due to its variety, price and decor inside. Great for appointments. Beautiful decorations inside and generally fast services. They have daily specialties. Try the hot and acid soup
Wonderful experience! I just threw a party for 85 people and ordered catering take out from Asian Gardens. I called months in advance and worked with Barbara to create the menu. We finalized it on Thursday for Saturdays party once I had an official headcount. Everyone LOVED the food. Many of my guests live in Oakland and SF and were so surprised to be eating such tasty Chinese food here in Nevada County! Definitely Americanized but done extremely well. I also couldn't order anything with pork due to dietary restrictions and no one missed it. I ordered: fried wontons, veggie egg rolls, chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, veggie chow main, broccoli beef, spicey beef beans, orange chicken, Kung pao chicken, eggplant tofu, and veggie deluxe. Came with sweet sour sauce, hot mustard, soy sauce, chop Stix, and a million fortune cookies. I would not hesitate to have them cater an event again! I provided my own chaffing dishes amd serving Utensils. The portions were very generous and I had some teens thay went back for 3rds and I still have leftovers! It is worth hiring a 3rd person to mind the buffet line and set everything up (thankfully I had a mom friend who used to work in food service and she took it over for me).
The service was quick however the food was dissappointing as my husband ordered the chicken chow mein lunch special and the chicken was dry and had an off taste. We ordered the fried shrimp appetizers and they were over cooked (rubbery) however the the crab cheese puffs appetizers were amazing. My lunch special of the sweet and sour pork was over cooked the pork was extremely chewy. The soup that came with the lunch specials was really good. If the foods would of been better this would have been a better experience. Still left a tip though because the service was good and fast and very polite. ?
OMG! Absolutely one of the best tasting places to eat in Grass Valley /Brunswick area! Clean, good vibes, very attentive service, loved the mirrors and decor . Best advice: Go from 11:00- 230 for lunch specials or 11:00- 4 30 for Early Bird Specials to give this place a try on a budget! We went with the Early Bird Specials which gives you a great variety taste selection of: soup, Salad, fried shrimp, and fried rice ALL with your main meal for $11.25 ! We tried combo A almond chicken with sweet and sour pork. Hubby had combo C Kung PAO Shrimp with Chicken chow mein. Wonton soup was delicious. Small salad was most excellent and very yummy! I ended up buying some salad dressing to take home! Very generous portions for main meal which was very tasty. They had a variety of beverages to.offer : shirly temple, Arnold palmer, Roy Roger's, Thai tea, beers, wine, pink lemonade and soft drinks. Paid $27.40 for 2 Early Bird Specials, 1 sweet tea.
