Stopped yesterday 04 for lunch, breakfast all day! we met a lovely lady, in seconds and sat. within seconds water was ordered on the table and breakfast, and what a magnificent, old-fashioned eating it was. lots of speck, delicious home cooked fried. kartoffels, perfect eggs, served hot and fresh. our perfect example for a great, no insane breakfast. the price was also perfect.
Tasty, good eating, nice environment, nice people and good prices. I ordered some types of food and did not see any of them bad or tasteless. I will eat from this restaurant.
Came over this restaurant while I was up there last month. We were at the Grande Cache Inn and Suites, we were looking for recommendations for a nice dinner. The hotel recommended High Country Ale and Steakhouse, or Bighorn Lounge that we decided on Big Horn... it was a great decision! My parents had burgers, and I had the 12oz peppermint new York steak, which was delicious and cooked for perfection, the service was very nice quiet bar for drinks and playing VLT's will be back when we ever do it again!
Back in 1983 when I came here with my parents, it was a big deal to eat here. There was a large lobster tank and people came for a great steak and a fancy night out. Eight years ago when I came here, it looked...like a sad cafeteria gone wrong and the food was half ass at best. This time, things were looking so much better. First off I gotta talk about the crazy menu prices listed. I don't mean the value but the actual numbers. 21.36, 16.52, 12.37, 9.68, these are such weird numbers to end with. Every item seemed to have a random ending number. The decor is clean and modern with a softer look. The food was very good. The service was excellent. My boy had the kids fish and chips and it was a nice portion and he really enjoyed it. My wife had the baked lasagna which was large and covered in a great layer of baked cheese. The sauce was tasty and noodles plentiful. Only downside was how runny the meat sauce was. The taste was great but they really need to work on the consistency of the sauce. I had a hot turkey sandwich with a baked potato. Great meat, nice large soft potato , good gravy and a nice steamed selection of well cooked vegetables. Everyone's meal was satisfying and very well priced. The server, Helen, was excellent and attentive. She even performed a minor miracle. My five year old is the pickiest eater in the world. You can not get him to eat soup or salad. Somehow she convinced him to try a cup of chicken minestrone. I thought when it came he would refuse to actually try it. To my amazement he ate it all. Including the dreaded corn nibblets that he will usually throw a fit over! I really enjoyed this meal and experience and would eat here again if we were here another night!
