Gilly's Family Restaurant - Grand Forks

Just at Gilly's for a family dinner. Arrived late so only able to order off the menu. Fantastic service and excellent food! Generous portions freshly made and very accommodating to our family of 7!

We went as a family as we were in grand forks for a funeral and the management was awesome and the food was awesome the food was flavorful and very hot I have been to other buffet and the food was warm so Gilly surprised me. Thank you for accommodating our family

We went to Gillys and had supper last week. The food was lackluster with a selection that was less than what I am used to in a buffet style restaurant. There were mostly noodles and vegetables rather than meat and the meat dishes were mostly bones (ie ribs with a scape of meat and chicken with one bite of meat). Overall this was certainly not the best I ever tasted but Hubby went up to pay with the couple that was with us right behind him. We left after paying and then we heard afterwards that the cashier ran after them telling them they hadn't paid???? They produced a cash receipt and then the cashier said we had not. Upon hearing that the next day, I went back into gillys with MY MasterCard receipt and showed them. I might say that it had a substantial tip on it as well. I asked to speak to the owner and showed him the receipt and instead of apologizing he said that if we didn't like the service we needed to eat elsewhere. I have never been so insulted in all my life. Having tried most restaurants in this small community of mine as well as most restaurants surrounding Grand Forks, I found this restaurant to be terrible both in substance and lack of management skills. I cannot, in all good conscience, suggest this restaurant to anyone else.

Good Chinese restaurant. Buffet OK but always check it out before committing to it. Staff friendly. Good take out portions.

Not many places open at 7:30pm on a Friday in Grand Forks! The Buffet was closed and we ordered off the menu. Food was very good.
