The Cod Mother's - Gore Bay

We were very excited to visit this restaurant based on older reviews, but unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. We ordered some soup, salad, onion rings, tea, and a Caesar salad. We waited for our drinks for nearly 15 minutes, and after 45 minutes, we inquired about our soup and salad. The waiter informed us that the kitchen was having some issues. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave, canceling our order. We told the waiter that the kitchen was to blame for the delay, not her. She mentioned that we were not the only table experiencing delays that day. I would recommend avoiding this place and instead heading to Campbell's on the autobahn or Buoy's at the harbor for fantastic food and service. This restaurant unfortunately missed the mark on service.

We have fallen for lunch in gore bay. we were on vacation, we were not pressed for the time, but this place has bad service at a completely new level. we originally wanted the terrace, but they couldn't accommodate as they only had one server....OK, that's understandable. we went in and the server seemed to have no training in the hospitality. she was extremely slow and seemed really confused. again we were patient as on holiday. that was terrible. I mean really bad. a little taste and inferior ingredients. I had the fish tacos (the fish itself was in order, but the sauces were really bad) and my man had the pizza. the pizza was passable, but no taste and crumb ingredients. it's a pity that this place could be a winner with new management. super location good hours for gore bay and an extensive menu. avoid this place at all costs (I seldom if ever give a place a bad review, but that is one of them.)

We had to wait 16 minutes before receiving our menus, 15 minutes before our drinks arrived, and 10 minutes before we could start eating. An older woman was serving all the tables. I hope that this bad experience was not the norm at this restaurant.

A late lunch. no one around us so we found one table and waited for the server to see us. we wanted fish and chips, but there was no one on the menu. We later discovered that we only have 1 page of the...Ist menu! we just ordered a pizza. After 50 minutes it finally arrived and it was the worst pizza we ever had. the service was bad. another customer came in and the server saw her and ignored her totally. when we were gone, we couldn't find the server. we finally figured out how much our bill was and left the money on the counter.

We are not sure if we will return to this restaurant, possibly because nothing else is open until the long weekend. It appears that there is a lack of management in place. We ordered French onion soup that was supposed to come with a baguette, but they had run out. The door to the patio was left open in the restaurant, and a woman at another table and I requested the waitress to close it, but she said she couldn't because there were customers outside. It was unclear why the door couldn't be closed. Aside from one young woman who had worked here in the past, all the staff seemed unprofessional and inexperienced. We will not be returning.
