The chef studied at George Brown and it showed, as his creations tasted like many of the good dishes in a good Toronto restaurant. While pricey, the food is good, the service is efficient and friendly, and the location is outstanding (right by the lake so you can see the sun set as you dine for dinner). Went here for a couple of dinners and I think the common themes are the chef does meats really well and the cakes are outstanding. We got: Meats: The applewood smoked rib eye (came with a flourish under a smoking glass), back ribs (tasty Jack Daniels rub) and beef kebob (appetizer that packed an entree level flavour), and all were good. Pastas: We also tried a couple of pastas that were good the creamy sauce on the seafood pasta was fine, with the highlight being the perfectly cooked scallops; whole the 3 cheese lasagna was super cheesy and the meat was tasty. Salads: Garden and caesar salads were fine, though not standouts. Desserts: The cakes chocolate, with 3 layers of decadence; and carrot, with a heavy cream cheese to it were perfect ends to the meal. Overall, pricey but worth it if you want a tasty treat on the island.
Chef Alberto and team prepare a differentiated menu in the area while supporting local suppliers. Make sure to reserve in advance and arrive on time. There are 2 tables that have the unobstructed water view. Janet tried her best to provide warm and efficient service, considering all the covid policies. Enjoyed our 2 dinners during our stay at the Inn. They also take reservations and take out from non-residents of the Inn. Chef Alberto really stands out with his meat dishes! Steak, kebab, ribs were specially delicious. Pasta was also good and reasonably priced. Great place to celebrate and relax, worth the premium pricing!
What a brilliant little gem in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island! A most decent menu led to a favourite Friday night selection and a very satisfied customer. We need to return soon and have already been warned that spring and summer reservations get booked quickly in advance. Try it out too !!
Janet greeted us at door ask for vaccine proof and directed us to table. My wife and friends had great meal of ribs with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir . Place is spotless and Janet our server knows how to give you custom service. Would recommend for a nice relaxing getaway for fine dining this winter.
