Candlelight Restaurant - Goderich

Fast and friendly staff. Salad bar with most meals. Reservations gladly accepted. Great bar. Large variety on on menu.

The Sunday brunch had many diners attending but was lacking enough servers to really take care of everyone which made for poor service. The buffet was dimly lit and did not look very appetizing. I did not like the food and found it to be it bland and flavorless. It is unfortunate that I found this to be a very disappointing dining experience.

We stopped for lunch on a Friday. We were the only diners. The service was quick. We both enjoyed a bowl of beef soup. My husband had quiche and he said it was like homemade.....light and fluffy.....a large slice with Caesar Salad. My house salad was a poor choice..... just a cup of lettuce on a small plate with a few vegetables on top for $4.29. I should have ordered the quiche. We'll probably eat here again when passing through Goderich.

We came to Goderich looking for a good fish dinner. There was a sign at the road advertising fresh fish dinners, so we stopped in. There were several occupied tables but only one server. Service was slow and the rolls with dinner never appeared. We ordered the fish specials, which took longer than you would expect considering they were the specials. Others arriving at the same time were nearly done before our dinners arrived. My wife's fish had a lot more bones than is acceptable.

This is a terrible restaurant! My wife and I tried to eat dinner at this restaurant on a Saturday night in mid September. We didn't think it was terribly busy because there were quite a number of empty tables. That should have been a good indication because almost every other restaurant in town was busy! We sat down and the waitress came over and gave us menus and filled our water glasses, but didn't take a drink order. For about 15-20 minutes, we watched other people place orders, get served, tables cleared and watched both waitresses manually write up bills by looking up prices in the menu. No one ever came to take our order or even apologize and say they would be right with us. The couple that walked in at the same time as us were served within minutes of sitting down. We walked out and no one even said a word or tried to stop us.
