Glenwood Smokehouse - Glendale

I was disappointed with my dining experience. The mashed potatoes lacked flavor, the barbecue sauce was unappetizing, and I found it hard to justify paying $9 for just two small pieces of cornbread. In total, I spent over $100, and I feel it was not worth it.

Although the restaurant shows enthusiasm for their BBQ, it ultimately doesn't meet expectations. The flavors are somewhat shallow, leaving the meat tasting bland, and the sauces don't have the bold, unforgettable taste one hopes for. Despite their eagerness, the execution misses the mark; the smokiness doesn't fully infuse the meat, leading to a rather unimpressive BBQ experience. While some elements indicate potential, the overall result lacks the rich, mouthwatering qualities characteristic of outstanding BBQ.

When we arrived, we chose to sit at the bar, but the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. My brother and I had come to the Americana to enjoy the holiday decorations and some local appetizers, and we decided to grab some takeout from Glenwood. Unfortunately, the food was both overcooked and cold. We left feeling let down by both the service and the food. This isn't the first time we've experienced this with local restaurants; they often start off strong but then seem to lose their way. At this point, we feel there's no reason to keep returning.

Bland, flavorless, dry and cold. You're better off eating a TV dinner. If you're thinking of eating here, don't. In N Out is across the street.
