The Centre Bar & Grill - Glen Eira

The bar does not entice you in to have a drink a short bar with two stools . Lights are too bright music too loud. No atmosphere, just like a burger place. Staff do not dress or act professional, though friendly. Burgers we ordered were ok nothing special and small, chips were great but had to order separate not included. I did not think we got value for our money at $65 for two that includes 2 glasses of wine. We won't be back. Sorry to say this place is not going to last.

$64 for 2 mains, 2 beers and one dessert. The food was really well done. I had lamb shanks and the other guest had a burger. Very very good food, high quality. The chocolate mint mouse dessert was really special. We have eaten here twice and will be back.

Excellent food and reasonably priced aswell. I will definitely have to make it a regular place for dinner. Jalapeño poppers and chicken wings are a must ! Ribs and burgers are really good too !! The desserts are to die for. Just what Bentleigh needed.

My friend and I were early for our reservation so we thought that we would take the opportunity to have a drink at the bar before being seated but due to the unfortunate location of the bar, at the back near the kitchen, we asked if we could be seated at our table instead, which was a shame. We were seated at the back of the restaurant opposite the bar I could view the serving area from the kitchen with it's annoying off again and on again heat lamps informing staff that the plates are ready to be served. Also you could feel a draft from the door leading to the bathrooms whenever a patron left the inner door open.The menu, I enjoy fusion like so many of us do, but I struggle with a restaurant that services Grill with Indian fusion, Grill with Mexican fusion, as well as Ribs & Burgers and Mexican food! Owners please pick one cuisine and make it great!I ordered the Chicken with Quinoa which was covered in a Harissa based topping which was overly generous for my liking but the Chicken was moist, tender and lovely. My friend ordered the Scotch Steak which was also prepared to his liking but lacked vegetables the Chat Potatoes were overly seasoned and not enough of them on the plate. Also we would have liked to have known which vegetables accompanied the plates and have the option to replace them as my plate came with a generous serve of Bell Peppers which was over powering as Harissa is Bell Pepper based. The Salad consisted of a Pear Mixed Leaf but overly sweet due to the amount Candied Walnuts. We ended our dining experience with a Sticky Date Pudding and hoped that it wasn't a frozen bulk store bought Sara Lee concoction, the pudding was extremely enjoyable not overly sweet, not store bought but the dates contained pips!The wine list is not extensive but well chosen so you'll find an enjoyable drop. Little Goat Creek Pinot Gris and Mr Mick Tempranillo were both lovely and note that happy hour is only for beer drinkers, not wine drinkers, not happy! As for the waitering staff, Pooja was lovely, accommodating and apparently just started she had a presence about her and you took her demeanour as being part of the waitering staff but as for Jasmine, who is an experienced member of staff, was wearing lumberjack shirt and jeans I had no idea who she was until she walked over to us and asked how we were. Jasmine is very skilled though she looked out of place in Bentleigh. I could see her managing a restaurant on Brunswick Street or restaurant in St Kilda!If you're looking for a bar then keep looking this restaurant does not offer a comfortable Bar and the fact that dirty dishes were piled up on the bar while we were dining, wouldn't invite me to sit and have a drink. Also the bathrooms, they need a good scrub especially if the washing area is unisex, successful restaurants have immaculate bathrooms it's not hard to maintain.Will I be back? Not sure, apparently the restaurant is attempting a Winter Menu I would like to view the menu online but they don't have a website as yet. I'll think about returning when I can view the menu online.Love Giulia

Will DEFINITLELY be coming back here again and again... Even better that I live a street away!! Great service and fantasic food and beer!!!!!
