Chill and low key spot for a classic Japanese meal. All the staples are done pretty well. Fish is fresh and local, presentation is crisp. Generous portions and a convivial local feel.
As something regular at sozai, I am sad to write a negative review, but not sure what is going on in the kitchen, but the meal we got was strict 2. guess from what was earlier a 1st guess place. agedashi tofu was bland, coating on tofu not resemble earlier delicacies, spicy thunfish roll was without a spicy until the point that it tasted like the others and we 're badly cut, personal at the door was completely out. I could go on, but I'm sure someone reads that that gist gets. the people with whom we shared our meal times, which are more regular, were also dissapointed please sozai management back to their previous excellent.
Lovely food. Enjoyed the tempura prawns and vegetables.
Cosy spot on the main road. The karaage chicken while plentiful in size did not have the same level of flavour compared to other Japanese restaurants.Sashimi was definitely on point, very fresh and tasty, especially the tuna.Spicy tempura prawn rolls are a must-have.Good time to go is around 2-3pm if you want quiet dining.
