This is a very authentic pizza placeLa Piazza Allegra really does just pride itself on making a good pizza and then it's a job well done.
I remember the day when there were no wood fired pizza places on Glen Huntly Rd It was a sad time.
We arrived at 6:30pm, the only ones in the place. We ordered our meals and waited, and waited, and waited. I saw some pizzas heading out... Delivery I presume. After we sat for 90 minutes, two of four meals were delivered while we continued to... Wait!My friend took a spoon of lasagne which was overpoweringly SALTY and inedible. I took a morsel of the over cooked and dried up chicken Schnitzel to discover IT WAS OFF! (And I'm not talking a little bit off either, it was disgusting!)- Also, the menu stated baked potato but it came with three steamed wedges. With that, we upped and left. The staff were obliging and apologetic... They seemed resigned to this outcome and not surprised by it at all. Do yourself a favour and Just Don't Do It... Go next door to 'White Village' or to 'Cafe Omisi' around the corner instead.
Dined here recently and wasn't overly impressed; had dined here before and thought it was much better previously. The place was pretty empty and the service wasn't very good. The waitress who was serving everybody didn't have much warmth. The place was a bit chilly temperature wise. The food was ok; nothing special. The people dining with me wouldn't return as one of them in particular didn't like their ceasar salad. The bruschetta was on a piazza base and the onions were very strong in taste and overwhelming.
