I love the fit out at David'sIt's country style, lots of whites and timbers, really high loft style ceilings.
We (family - 7 adults, 4 kids) came here for lunch for father's dayDefinetely a different take to yum cha.
We went to the unlimited Yum Cha on Saturday, The food tasted good, but there wasn't enough of it. The trays would arrive empty to our table and then would take forever for them to refill (they had 2 rooms and all the food was coming into the other room first instead of having different waiters look after each room). It took about half an hour for us to get a decent bite to eat and when we left we weren't really full. We also arrived on time and had to wait 10 min outside in the freezing cold while they cleared tables. Compared to their other restaurant - Oriental tea house, we found there to be more variety at oriental, much bigger portions and tastier meals. Much better value too ($30 compare to $40 pp) David's was very average and I don't understand the hype. We probably wouldn't go back
I eat Peking Duck everywhere but its always great at Davids, there's a new menu with more of a street hawker vibe, try the sticky pork its amazing.
