Sarkies Corner - George Town

I hesitated to book a room in the Victory Annexe, thinking it might not have the charm of the original wing. Wrong! My room, 1207, looks like it was built in 1885, but is in pristine condition. I love being able to step out onto the secluded balcony and watch the ships. The staff are all courteous and personable and the breakfast buffet is extensive and excellent. I am so pleased with my choice.

There is no better place to stay in Georgetown than the E&O! Lovely and service oriented staff, amazing pool, wonderful breakfast buffet, perfect laundry service! Please keep on in this manner! I can highly recommend it.

We went to the E and O for afternoon tea while staying in Penang for a few days. Wonderful afternoon in the old colonial style. Beautifully presented finger sandwiches, scones and fancies. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend to anyone who would like to try tea as it used to be served in another world.

Booked our Accommodation online in Australia, which is always iffy as pictures are always grander than reality. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival that the Hotel was more than what the pictures showed. We love the Hotel and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful if they tried. Nothing is a problem for them. We would highly recommend this place.

We called in for afternoon tea without a booking and were looked after really well by the staff. This was the best afternoon tea I have ever had. The food was delicious and presentation was fabulous. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.
