It is more of a mess style service. I did not read the reviews before going and hence was quite let down. The place was pricey at that too
Few things to clarify. This is a restaurant with a fixed daily menu of a few items only, and self-service, almost mess-hall style. There's very little service here. On the day I visited there were only 4-5 items, almost all vegetarian, and of a poor quality. In fact, I think many people can cook these dishes better at home. For example, goulash, but only potatoes, no meat (?!), some kind of overbaked dry pasta, with a few specks of ham somewhere hidden, a carrot soup, and forgot the other item. Yes, you can pick a bread and some basic salad. You pick a plate, they pour stuff on the plate and off you go. Obviously, this is a locally preferred restaurant, since any day as an Austrian you could probably get some dish which resembles a local dish made way back when. But anybody just looking for a restaurant needs to understand the offer up-front and not get overly disappointed. This is the first thing I didn't notice on most reviews when I decided to go there. Second, is that for the poor quality, the prices are quite high! It cost us 15eur per plate with a simple drink, nothing special, and nothing extra, oh, and no service what-so-ever.On the positive side, the lady behind the counter was courteous and nice given what's on offer.
Awesome small place run by a lovely passionate lady. A business pronto lunch for locals in a hidden place with a home made flavor small but delicious choice. Memorable meat loaf and brownies, organic juices, and the BEST coffee in town so far.
