After ordering, we were given some bread/baguettes, light salad/olives and some kind of garlic cream that went perfect with the former....: After the nice appetizer, I started with Scampi Creme Suppe, became my favorite real soon, it was soooo creamy and had very interesting seasoning (spices , I have no idea what did they use, but phenomenal. Then we ordered a mixed platter for 2 from these: „Bodulo“ Krustentiere Teller and Fischplatte „Bodulo“. Well, look at the picture. It was fresh, huge, we ate everything and almost exploded. The fish was just perfect, the waiter was funny, kept us entertained. The place is small but nice, just to let you know, if you are paying partially with voucher, then the rest should you pay with CASH only. Have no idea why, but luckily we had cash with us. I also won't lie, since a Dalmatian seafood restaurant, the prices are not for the faint of heart. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, thank you!
Starting with the positives, the food is excellent, both the fish as well as the side vegetables. Hence my 4 star rating. My review is limited however on one dining experience and on one dish. As to service, I have grudgingly accepted that servers in...Vienna may differ from my own standards. Fair enough. But I came here expecting that I can choose from 9 varieties of fish as listed on their menu, while being told right from the start (without an explanation) that I can forget about 99 percent of those and they only have one, namely Branzino. It turned out to be very good but I expected more options, since it claims to be one of the major fish restaurants. As for price point, I realize that fresh seafood is expensive. I did however find it it high for a suburban restaurant on a busy street with little ambiance. Also, the level of service added nothing to my dining experience. It is unlikely that I will return.
We were recommended this restaurant by the concierge at Sans Souci and it truly was a great experience.Food was fresh, tasty and the service was great. They didn't have an English menu but this was not an issue as the recommendations they suggested were delicious. The owners were very polite and helpful. The restaurant is a bit further out but easy to get to by taxi.
We were recommended this restaurant by the concierge at our hotel. We were a bit skeptical because we did not see this restaurant in the top 10. Our experience was truly outstanding. Tamara recommended our dishes as the menu is in German. For starters we had a seafood sampler which included sea scallops, shrimp, and octopus. Everything was simply divine. We ordered the salt crusted sea bass and monkfish. The presentation of the sea bass was so interesting that I recorded it! The monk fish was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were the perfect compliment. This was all followed by a divine desert platter that had the perfect sweetness that complimented the whole experience. Without question this is a place to try if you are in Vienna.
The restaurant is a little bit old-fashioned but food and service compensate. Really kind owners that are child-friendly
