Didn't expect this at all in this area, in the 16th district. The staff was really friendly and they could recommend one or other drink and dish. We decided then, backhendlsalat and fish chips both tasted beautiful. They do not offer an average menu, but also really different things that you are not used to get in a regular beer garden. I liked it very much! Compared to other tourist crowded similar places (e.g. in 1030) This place is a better LOT and I hope it will stay for a long time! Great recommendation!
The restaurant is very easy to reach by bus 48A. Inside it looks very new and has very nice atmosphere. The restaurant offers Austrian and Bavrian dishes with a selection of Austrian beers. In summer they have a nice gas garden. I definitely come back.
I live in this neighborhood and noticed her sign advertising the supposedly beautiful garden a while ago, so I decided to test it with a friend on a sunny afternoon. We entered the garden over the restaurant and were surprised to see high ceilings and interesting architectural features. Since it was between lunch and dinner, the place was left and I didn't want to go to the house. The garden was almost empty, but very nice. We were not in the mood for a beer, but as can be expected in a place with beer in the name, there were quite a variety of offered, including some quite frightening cocktails with beer. Not quite my fish tank... My friend tried the fish and chips and I stole some of the very delicious chips. The dough of the fish was a bit on the thick side, but otherwise well presented. Service was friendly and fast. I would not necessarily make the hike to Gablenzgasse if I lived in another part of the city, but as a local I found it a great addition to the local gastro scene and will be back.
