For the main course, if you have a hearty appetite and want to sample a variety of flavors on one plate, especially if you're dining with two or more people, I suggest opting for 'La Picada.' This dish includes an assortment of meats served with yuca and plantains. It's perfect for sharing, delicious, and very satisfying. Just a heads-up: the medium size is quite generous, so only order that if you're in a larger group.

What a great local find! Got to eatly to the community blood bank in the same plaza so it wasn't open. I decided to get breakfast. I thought all they would have is pastries but to my delight they had a menu as well. I ordered Cazuela de Frijoles and a large coffee. The dish was delicious the flavors were varied and the meal as a whole was just great. Seating is limited but the food is delicious, obviously authentic and filling. Service was outstanding and the staff was extremely friendly. I will likely be back again just to experiance the food, and many of the baked goods as well.

I've had Colombian food from multiple locations in NC and this has to be my favorite so far. Great dishes and variety to choose from. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are available and all are fantastic.

I decided to stop by El Sombrero for an early lunch since they open at 10:30 AM. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a stunning display case filled with an array of beautiful Colombian and Latin pastries, showcasing various shapes, sizes, and flavors, including some savory options! My waitress was incredibly friendly and quickly brought me my bottled drink and took my order. I opted for the Pollo de milanesa accompanied by potatoes, rice and beans, and maduros with cheese. The food arrived quickly, served fresh and hot, and it was absolutely delicious—seasoned to perfection. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the rice was soft, and the beans were delightful. Even the side salad was surprisingly good! The maduros stood out as the best part of the meal, and the savory cheese paired wonderfully with the sweet plantains. I took some leftovers home and enjoyed them just as much later on! I can't wait to visit again soon!

I've ordered takeout from here quite a few times, and it's always been excellent. I'm really pleased with all the staff; they make me feel like I'm chatting with family—very friendly and welcoming. If you haven't tried a Colombiana, which is a Colombian soda, I highly recommend getting a can. It's my favorite soft drink, and even though I don’t usually drink soda, I definitely enjoy it with an empanada!
