Espettus - Funchal

What a pleasure to be back in Funchal and to eat in one of our favourite restaurants there. I had steak on a stone. My wife prefers fish so she had scabbard fish with prawns. One of the plus points of this restaurant is that you get to choose your own vegetables or salad. We ate early 19:00 this time, so it was relatively quiet on a Wednesday evening. It does pick up and get livelier after 20:00. The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for you.

Our second visit to this restaurant this holiday. My wife and I enjoyed our first visit so much we both chose the same meal again. Steak on a stone for me and espada with prawns for my better half. Delicious food, lovely staff, what more is there to say.

Used by local people, which is always a good sign. Plenty of space with choice of indoors or outdoors. Food excellent, and staff friendly (we discussed solar energy! . Though we ate fish, their rotisserie meats looked delicious as they were carved off the spit for our neighbouring diners. We enjoyed ourselves, including the complimentary drink at the end.

Great restaurant! Fab staff all of whom give attention to detail! ???????????? Not our first visit, and won't be the last! ???? Easy to find and comfortable, great house wine too! ????
