We waited for 30 minutes and we never got the chance to order. Other customers that came after us and sit in the bar got service first. We sit on both, and after 20 minutes, we only got a cup of coffee, and my wife never got her orange juice. So we gave the waitress 2 dollars for the coffee and left.
It's a shame it's closing due to losing their lease. Hard to find these kind of places anymore. My omelet and hash browns were tasty.
Lady saw us coming to the door and literally closed the restaurant 15 minutes early. I usually do not show up anywhere so close to closing time and didn't realize how ridiculously early they closed. Called and asked for the manager. The lady said they weren't there. She did ask what the problems was and I told her. She said the had to close early because the owner wanted to leave. Which tells me the owner was there and available to talk but didn't want to. This would have been my first time here and you know what they say. First impressions are everything. We won't likely be back. We were however greated promptly and properly at First Watch. Again First impressions are everything. So at least I found a great restaurant with amazing food and service in the end.
My husband and I have been wanting to try The Long Horn for a while. We decided to go there today for breakfast. Upon entering the place it is small and looking over the menu most of the items do not come with hash browns. Most everything like bacon or sausage or hash browns are a la carte if ordering certain breakfast items. We both ordered an Omelet. I ordered a bacon omelet with grits and he ordered a sausage omelet with a biscuit. We also ordered one pancake and a side of hash browns since our omelets did not include that. We received our food and I must say we were not impressed. First of all they got our orders wrong and gave me the sausage omelet with the grits and my husband the bacon omelet with the biscuit and gravy. The grits should have been with the bacon omelet and the biscuit with the sausage omelet. The omelets did not look like 3 egg omelets and the meat was only in the middle with not much cheese. They brought the pancake and forgot the hash browns. They brought the hash browns which were frozen patties. The food was less than ok. The portions are very small. The pancake had no flavor nor did the syrup. We were asked how we liked the food and my husband said it was ok. She said she was sorry to hear that. He told her the pancake had no flavor and she stated they have been making the same recipe for 30 years and it had vanilla and cinnamon in the batter. There was no sign of any of those flavors in the pancakes. For what we paid $31 the quality and flavor was not worth what we paid. It was an expensive mistake and we will not be going back.
