Bistro Panpan - Frederiksberg

Very delicious Asian inspired hot dog. The staff were very busy but they were smiling. They pointed out that it might take half an hour before they could take the order, as many people had arrived at the same time... we could order a table and then come back half an hour later. We chose to sit down and wait. Cozy with the eating panda sitting right outside the window. There was a sense of community between all the guests...we followed what the panda was doing.

Dining Week oplevelse i en klasse for sig. Eksklusivt ved vinduet ud til anlægget med pandabjørnene de få gæster havde alle fint udsyn og rigtig god plads indbyrdes. Appetitlige serveringer med få ingredienser. Passende små portioner med masser af karakter og smag som med vinene. Opmærksom og kompetent betjening afrundede en unik aften over al forventning.

A very pleasant surprise to get excellent Asian style food in the place called bistro... while waiting time was not noticeable as big Panda himself came and joined us on the other side of glass. Kids menu arrives on steamers placed on each other and is just perfectly chosen nothing too fancy and nothing too Asian, beautifully balanced. Beer on the menu is Danish and you can even choose upscale of it. A little more pricy than regular bistro, of course, but well worth it and nothing outrageous. Loved to be there!

As a local dane with yearly card for Copenhagen Zoo now going on almost for a decade I have been dying for a place to eat un Zoo (besides the hot dog stands . It could have been so good but the place was let down by the huge ambitions set out from the kitchen which unfortunately does not match the level from the waiters. Three ‘confused’ girls were running around in the front they had to both take care of seating, take orders, serve (obviously , prepare drinks and coffee, etc.... We were there on Jan 2nd at 2pm it seemed that the restaurant was half full but still it took 40 minutes before we got our drinks (3 cokes from cans, a beer and water ; ....!!!!!! The servings come with several small bowls etc. which seems to be very posh and smart but again it did not match the number of front staffand their training (speed . Why make such an effort in fancy bowls when the girls have to run around to clean the tables down. They did not seem to care much about the guests but were more eager to remove cutlery, bowls, dishes etc from the tables. We saw at least two tables who left were myself really disappointed by such an awful service. Food in itself was ok nothing special given the price. In essence if your waiters cannit keep up the amount of servings etc. then perhaps hire more or lower the ambution slightly? It could have been so good but the severe mismatch between front and kitchen left me only with a really bad experience....!

We ordered hot dog with fries and the pig dish. Food was ok, the dip sauce for the fries was very doll and tasteless, the pig was ok but not exciting. It is ok that prices are a bit high for what you get considering that you have close view of a panda while eating. However, we ordered beers to drink, the waitress asked if we wanted still or sparkling water also and it was not understood that any extra would be charged for this. We were however charged 80 ddk for a caraf with tap water which probablly been inte the fridge for some time, but nothing more. No ice or lemon or similar to justify the price. So we really felt a bit tricked by paying for water, which is even if you understtod that you pay for it, expensive. Therfore the rating goes to bottom.
