Cafe Messina - Fortitude Valley

As a Chef I love my food I also happen to love Italian food. I wanted to rate this well, I honestly did but the dry crumbly doe that was like inhaling chip board tasted as if i was chewing on a wall, probably rolled hours before and left in the fridge with no love involved, Sad! The topping was stingy as if they couldn't afford to spare an olive or that extra slice of processed ham on a $13 8inch pizza. With fake tasteless plastic cheese to top the paste of what I presume to be tomato sauce, this was not an enjoyable pizza, only average at best!! Sorry for my harsh comments but this is the city and I expected better!

We arrived at around 2pm and were worried we wouldn't get lunch - but the manager and chef were very accommodating and supplied exactly what we asked for. All meals were substantial and good quality.

We had a group booking for breakfast here and enjoyed it so much I returned with my partner for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals on both occasions. Breakfast is great value with lots of options and the coffee is very well made. There is long bench seating at the rear of the cafe so staff were able to arrange tables and seating to comfortably fit 11 people. We ordered risotto marinara for dinner which was a very generous portion size and the seafood was very fresh. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Noticed lots of take away pizza going out the door so will definitely return to try the pizza.

I visited here one morning for breakfast on my way to work. The eatery offers 2 breakfast deals - bacon and eggs or a breakfast roll coffee for $10. The meal is really good value and overall was really nice. I would probably suggest changing the hamburger bun on the roll to a Turkish bread though but overall really good. The coffee was also very good too. Service was good and turn around time was quite fast. There is plenty of indoor seating available and the cafe also offers free WiFi too. Parking is quite limited in the area due to the location. Overall a pretty good establishment - I hope they get more business.

My favorite gelato place, hands downTheir unique flavors and method of mixing in other sweets is classy and refreshing.
