However, the chicken and brisket were drenched in sauce, which masked any seasoning. The chicken was dry, and the brisket was sliced very thin. This experience didn’t match the Robinson's Barbecue I remember. Hopefully, it was just an off day. Food rating: 1/5.
I was really disappointed with my experience. I ordered the rib tips, and they were lacking flavor and way too salty. There was no seasoning whatsoever, and the BBQ sauce tasted bland. It was obvious that the meat wasn't grilled properly; there was no smoky flavor at all. Additionally, the customer service left much to be desired. I'm not sure how long this place has been in business, but it's definitely not impressive. I'm relieved I didn't order more food.
Robinson BBQ used to be a great place, but not anymore. They don't offer any rub plates; you can only buy short or long ribs, and then you have to get sides separately. Unfortunately, the sides were disappointing. The potato salad was bland with just onions, and the macaroni and cheese was unappetizing. I spent $36, and I definitely regret it. I wouldn't recommend this place. Food rating: 1/5.
It is important that we support black businesses which is why I decided to patronize this establishment. When it came to the food, the meat had good smoked flavor and the bbq sauce was tangy. The service at the window was even great, there is a nice friendly older woman at the window and she has a very motherly vibe. However, pricing for what you get is not good. This tiny potato and a cup of koolaid cost me $23.00 which is severely overpriced. I wasn't even full or satiated after eating it. I could not believe how small the potato was for the price and that is what disappointed me the most. Most bbq places you get a massive potato with all the fixings, but this was a standard size potato and everything is a charge if you want extra anything which is semi normal but most places don't charge for chives or green onions. Overall I wasn't disappointed in the food or the taste, but the pricing needs work and you can tell things are priced just to make money while people won't get their moneys worth.
