Great wine selection, the only real disadvantage is that they urgently need a kitchen experiment. Your orders from the kitchen are everywhere, appetizers and salads come to the Entrées (as 40 minutes later).
Great place to kill an afternoon or stop a bit before you go to dinner. You have a happy hour. Grand Cru offers a curated selection of fantastic wines available from glass, bottle or in a variety of flights. I enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc flight, Rosé flight, Dark Spicy Red flight, Pinot Noir flight, there is something for any mood of the weather. They carry one of my favorite wines that are difficult to find; the Obsidian Ridge Cabernet from Red Hills AVA north of Napa, a fantastic wine region. Ordering our favorite thing is the crostini with mushroom, chèvre and fried prosciutto. We also enjoy the charcuterie board. It is located on the magnolia Ave near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth. It's just a few blocks from The Beast and countless other restaurants that are very popular. Great service, very friendly. There are a dozen Esh tables scattered through the room. We sat on a high 4-top opposite the windows that looked on the street. There are also seats on the counter and I also think a few outside. One side of the room has floor to ceiling white displays. You can pick up a bottle to get home or as a gift, they even offer gift bags.
Had a very unpleasant experience here. Stopd by a Friday night thrilled to try this place as they play live music. The artist playing this night had a sweet dog who sat by her when she singed so assumed that they were a dog friendly and I went with my little dog. The staff welcomed me, I sat down, ordered wine and was served. In the middle of my glass of wine, someone approached me asking for documents for my dog, as they only allow service dogs. I am completely aware of this policy as a dog owner, but this institution should learn how to properly deal with a service-patient situation. I'd like to have met her policy when I came in or was before serving. They basically threw me out after they served me. That was Grand Cru Bar on Magnolia.
Wine bar and retail store. Place is spacious and can accommodate groups. Our server was very knowledgable and extremely friendly. He was able to make several recommendations that we liked. Pricing is reasonable and varies depending on the wine selection. They have by the glass or for bottle consumption in site. You are also able to buy for home consumption at a discounted price. We didn't not try they tapas or small plates but what was coming out of the kitchen looked enticing. Definitely a must try again if ever on the area.
