For me the corn bread has a good flavor though it's a little dry for MY taste. You can tell the mashed potatoes are made in house for me a tad more butter and milk. The chicken fried chicken is delicious and my wife always gets the pot roast. Desserts are in house made again old school. It is a comfy place to enjoy a meal that just feels like home. Enjoy.
My SO and I went here on a random Thursday night. We were unaware that the restaurant closed at 8:pm but it didn't matter to the staff. Everyone we encountered was inviting, and was focused on us having a go time and meal. Our server (Linda? was insistent that we don't feel rushed and take our time to enjoy our experience. We had a full meal with appetizers and dessert and we enjoyed every bite. The pot roast is a classic and the Dixie House nailed it. Chicken fried steak is one of my absolute favorite dishes and I loved it here. The name of this restaurant invokes southern hospitality and the food and staff live up to that. I definitely will be going back
A friend and I ate lunch at the Hulen location on May 2. The food was good, and the service was fantastic. Generous servings. There was enough to bring home for the next day. I was buying, but I didn’t have money for a tip. I feel bad that my friend didn’t leave a very good one. I did think the food was a bit too salty, but I have to watch my salt. It might be fine for others.

Large portions, kinda long wait…large number of options. Basic tasty food like a “local-style” Cracker Barrel.
