I have to admit that the first few times I ate at First Watch, I liked it. However, my last two visits were such that I probably won’t go back. I ordered the veggie sandwich with pesto. I ordered it without cheese and my sister ordered the same with cheese. Both came with cheese. I did not send it back because I know that it would have been thrown into the garbage. 40% of all food gets wasted in this country, which is more of a crime than my eating a sandwich with cheese. The next time I ordered the same sandwich it did not have cheese. However, it had been cooked on the griddle next to bacon, and the bread had absorbed the bacon flavor. Again, I did not send it back. In fact, when you enter the restaurant, the entire place wreaks of bacon. Having not put a piece of pork into my mouth since 2010, I have grown to really dislike the smell of bacon. My advice to vegans: The smell of bacon fat alone may alter your appetite. If you do dine at First Watch, be sure to explain that vegan means NO CHEESE and absolutely NO BACON FAT cooked near your food. Better yet, just go to a vegan restaurant!
Love going to First Watch; always something for everyone in the party. My favorite go-to is the Chia pudding platter with almond nut butter slathered on that wonderful bread. Juices are fine too! Always friendly and quick service.
First Watch is always a winner for breakfast or lunch
Having been here thousands of times, I'm now so familiar with the menu that I usually go with one of the specials, but no matter what you choose you can't go wrong because everything is good. My favorite breakfast items that they always have though are their Meusli pancakes, and the Floridian French Toast(it has kiwi! my fav fruit! :
